Which Maclaw Wheel do I have?

Maclaw Wheels were made with different supports, finishes and artwork. Before following a guide or looking for a replacement part, start with the way your wheel is supported.

A freestanding wheel or a wall-mounted wheel?

A freestanding wheel uses a floor-standing base and upright. A wall-mounted version uses its dedicated mounting arrangement. They have separate assembly guides.

Indoor and outdoor versions

Outdoor wheels have rubber coating over the whole back section of the wheel. Check the back rather than relying on the colour or artwork. Outdoor wheels still need a roof and protection from direct rain, sleet and snow.

The finish matters too

A painted wheel with separate graphics and a wheel with a sealed printed design need different consideration before refinishing. Let us know which finish you have if your question involves paint, graphics or the running surface.

Where to find the serial number

The serial number is on the mount at the back of the wheel, just below the bearing. The photograph below shows where to look. Include your wheel’s own number if you can read it easily; it is optional on the contact form. You do not need to dismantle the wheel or delay asking for help because you cannot find or read it.

Look on the rear mount, just below the bearing. The number shown is an example; use the number on your own wheel.

Still not sure?

Start with a short description of the support arrangement and what you need help with. If a photograph would make identification easier, we can explain what we need after replying.
