Who handles your information
MaclawUK provides owner support for existing Maclaw Wheels and is responsible for the information described in this notice. You can contact us at privacy@maclawwheel.co.uk.
Information you choose to send
The contact form asks for your name, email address, the kind of help you need and a description of the issue. You can also give the wheel version, an optional serial number and optional photographs or short videos. Files are stored privately outside the website folder. The support email contains viewing links so our support team can review them. Anyone with one of these links can view that file until it expires; we keep the links within the support team.
Finding your wheel
If you enter a serial number, we look for its original completion date, wheel type and colours in a separate wheel register taken from our historical order sheets. The lookup shows wheel details only, with no customer names or contact details. Matching details are included in your support email. A serial number and successful match are optional.
Why we use it
We use these details to understand your enquiry, identify the wheel or part, reply to you and deal with any follow-up. We also use technical information to keep the website working and reduce spam or misuse.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: providing support that an owner has requested, keeping a useful record of that support and protecting the website. We do not use a support enquiry to sign you up for marketing.
Our inbox and service providers
Our support team can access the support mailbox. Our hosting and email providers process information needed to run the website and deliver or store correspondence. Security checks are provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.
Turnstile processes technical browser and network signals, including IP address, browser information and the website being protected. Our server sends the verification token to Cloudflare; it does not include your name, email address or message in that verification request. Cloudflare describes its own processing, including improvements to Turnstile, in its privacy information.
Cloudflare Turnstile privacy information
Cloudflare is an international service provider and may process technical information outside the UK. Its privacy information explains its processing locations and the safeguards it uses for international transfers.
How long we keep it
Support email conversations are kept for up to five years and may be deleted sooner when they are no longer needed. Short-lived form-security records expire after a few minutes or up to two hours. Expired records are cleared through maintenance or later security checks. Uploaded photo and video links expire after 30 days. The files are removed by a daily cleanup job or a later upload; expired links cannot be used even before cleanup runs. A copy you send separately by email becomes part of that support conversation.
Our web and email systems also keep operational logs for security, troubleshooting and reliable delivery. We retain these only while needed for those purposes. Separately stored recovery backups may retain copies for several months before they rotate out. Backup copies are used for recovery, rather than ongoing support or marketing.
Website storage and security
The contact form sends an enquiry by email; it does not keep a separate database of the message. The rebuilt support pages do not add advertising or marketing analytics. WordPress uses login cookies for authorised editors, and Cloudflare provides the form-security check. Our archive films are hosted on our own server. We do not load embedded YouTube players.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us about the information we hold about you and request access or correction. Depending on the circumstances, you may also ask for deletion or restriction, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact privacy@maclawwheel.co.uk so we can consider your request.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to us and to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
