Let your cat explore
After assembly, give your cat a few hours to explore the wheel and get used to it.
Find the right motivation
Try a food reward or a favourite toy. Encourage your cat to step on and off the wheel comfortably, and reward that progress.
Build confidence gradually
Once your cat is comfortable entering and leaving the wheel, encourage a few steps forward. Keep the experience positive. If your cat is not in the mood to play, stop and try again later.
Go at your cat’s pace
Some cats take longer to get used to the wheel, and others need occasional refresher sessions. Try the food- and toy-based exercises in the training PDF below. Let your cat choose when to take part; some cats may never choose to use a wheel.
