Caring for and cleaning your Maclaw Wheel

Cleaning

Clean the wheel with a damp cloth and an antibacterial liquid cleaner. Avoid abrasive sponges, cleaning pastes, bleach-based cleaners and steam cleaners.

Positioning

Place the wheel on a level, carpeted floor. On a hard floor, use a rubber-backed carpet mat to help prevent the stand moving. Keep the wheel out of direct sunlight.

Safety covers and supervision

Keep the covers protecting the turning mechanism attached and secure whenever the wheel is in use. Supervise cats, kittens and young children around the wheel.

Outdoor wheels

Keep outdoor wheels in a covered enclosure, with a roof above them and protection from direct rain, sleet and snow. The coating protects against moisture, but the wheel still needs shelter. Do not anchor it with weights or bricks.

Movement and maintenance

Some up-and-down and sideways movement around the central bearing is normal. If the movement changes, fixings appear loose or a new noise develops, stop and check before using the wheel again. Contact us if you are unsure.
